Every year for Thanksgiving our class hosts a celebration for our family and friends. We bake something in class for them to enjoy as a thank you for all they have done. I usually make pumpkin bread and have a toaster oven where students can smell it as it bakes in our oven. Students get so excited to see it rising. Last year I drew pictures on the cards and laid out ingredients at the top as students walked through each step. This year I made cards to easily identify what steps they need to

I'm Hungry--an introduction to world hunger for young children
When a local bank in our city asked our preschool to help them promote a local food bank drive, it became apparent that there were few resources written for 2-5 yrs regarding local or world hunger. That's when I put together this PowerPoint deck and printed it into book form. We now use it whenever we talk to children about the importance of being a caring and responsive part of the community. I hope others find it handy in their work with little ones.
