Library Lessons Scavenger Hunt | Dewey Decimal | Vocabulary
The first Library Lesson of the year can be a fun exploration. Savenger hunts are fun! Use first question and answer hunt to introduce the school library while meeting common core standards. Send home the public library hunt for extra credit. Follow up with the Dewey Decimal note card hunt as practice before research projects. Vocabulary is simple. This is the last of a 5 week unit about Black History that includes information about the past Winter Olympics in Russia, history of the Olympic rings and colors and honors Jessie Owens. It includes higher order thinking questions and common core standards. Week one was living famous African Americans and had a free download that explains more about creating the five week class chapter book. Week 2 was Inventors, Week 3 was Activists, Week 4 includes President's Day.
