Jingle Unit: PowerPoint & Worksheet
This unit is a blast with middle school students! Throughout the unit, learn about the history of jingles through familiar examples. Explore how jingle writing changed over the years with technology, and other methods the music industry uses to advertise products. Summarize the unit by having students try their own hand at writing their own short jingle. Sing Dorian
This is a song designed to be improvised with on any keyboard instrument. Of course the keyboard must be in tune with 440 pitch. As long as the improvisor stays on the white keys there will be harmonic peace. Some have said that a true Dorian mode must resolve to the d minor chord. This song was one of the reasons that the title "Special Kind of Songs" was chosen for the "Blue" album. I considered that the awesome talent of this lovely young lady was worthy of praise and celebration. To put that in to play I wrote this tribute to Chris Evert. She was a great role model for youngsters who dedicated so much energy to achieve excellence in her sport. When she won the Wimbledon Ladies Championship, this song was played on several radio and TV stations in the South Florida area
