My kiddo's are OBSESSED with slime and are constantly making it- they even trade it and sell it to each other! I decided to tap into this interest as a way to introduce sequencing. I adapted this recipe and you can find a ton of different ones on the internet depending on what ingredients you want to use. Candy Cane Dissolving Experiment Worksheet: Prediction and Result Drawings
My students loved this project! We took three candy canes and tested how we they dissolved under vinegar, hot water, and soda! My students were able to grow their vocabulary, learning words like prediction and result. I had my students draw in the cup what they thought the end product would look like and what the product ended up looking like.
