Classroom Procedures using Memes for intermediate/middle school students
I am a bit sarcastic yet fun teacher. I created this PowerPoint to cover almost anything and everything that will be discussed in the first week of school. It is made of over 60 slides and is meant to be shown in increments. I made most of the memes myself from my meme generator on my phone. I have left it so that it can be edited (of course) and I highly recommend using it with upper elementary and middle school students. None of the slides are meant to be mean. This presentation goes over how anxiety can affect the way we think, feel, and behave. It touches on how when we interrupt our irrational thoughts, it can then influence the way we feel, creating a potentially more positive result. When I was student teaching my mentor showed me the fist to five strategy. I use this strategy with a wide variety of sastudents to check understanding and engagement. It is a great tool to quickly regroup mid lesson. Each rating includes a statement of the student's perceived level of understanding and an "I can" or "I need" statement.
