Real-life Budget activity
This activity will be a guided class activity in which students choose their career from a list of careers and median salaries. The students will then use websites and given information to determine their school loan payments, buy a house, determine their mortgage, utilities, car payment, insurance and groceries/living expenses. The students will be able to complete a budget sheet and then a short 4 question reflection sheet from the activity. My students did this at the end of 8th grade math

Responsibility: visual activity and role plays
Responsibility is an important value. Instilling this value in students is necessary for time management, intrinsic motivation, prioritization, and good work ethic. This is my favorite activity to do with students. You'll need a clear jar or vase, small pebbles, and large rocks, along with this lesson plan. The visual is very impactful. The role play activities the students create afterwards will reinforce their ability to apply the new information.

Self-Advocacy Situation Cards
Situations to be used with your students to practice self-advocating. These tend to be some of lifes' more tricky situations. Most situations occur in the school setting. Read the situation and have the student respond, the red are suggestions for responses.
